Welcome back! We were very busy behind the scene and I am delighted to announce the formation of the Carolina Center for Neurostimulation in the Department of Psychiatry at UNC! The goal of this new center is to advance neurostimulation through integration of research, clinical care, and education. In invite you to browse the center website and reach out to me with feedback and ideas.
We are in the process of rolling out new initiatives and are very much looking forward to enhancing collaborations in the field of neurostimulation at UNC and beyond.
Here is a brief preview of what we have in mind:
  • Scientific / technical support and collaboration for non-invasive brain stimulation studies including tDCS, tACS, TMS, tSMS, and other stimulation modalities.
  • High-density EEG for investigating target engagement.
  • Educational opportunities to learn how to perform non-invasive brain stimulation (research).
  • Community outreach to communicate research studies and findings.
  • Rapid translation of research findings into clinical options.
  • International partners to foster collaborations and exchanges.
  • Collaboration with neuroengineering ventures, including startup companies.
I am the director of the new center and I am truly excited to serve the community.
Yours,
Flavio
